MSCT angio advances in peripheral vessels
نویسنده
چکیده
CT angiography is an emerging technique for noninvasive evaluation of peripheral vascular disease. CT was first used to evaluate the peripheral vasculature in the early 1990s. Single-detector spiral CT scanners were limited by their inability to cover the whole vasculature from the diaphragm to the feet quickly enough to track a contrast bolus. These limitations were overcome with the advent of multislice CT scanners in 1998.1 MSCT images are comparable to those obtained with catheter angiography (Figure 1).

Patient Acceptance of Noninvasive and Invasive Coronary Angiography
BACKGROUND Noninvasive angiography using multislice computed tomography (MSCT) is superior to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for detection of coronary stenoses. We compared patient acceptance of these two noninvasive diagnostic tests and invasive conventional coronary angiography (Angio). METHODS AND FINDINGS A total of 111 consecutive patients with suspected coronary artery disease underwe...
متن کاملComparison of non-invasive multi-slice computed tomography coronary angiography versus invasive coronary angiography and fractional flow reserve for the evaluation of men with known coronary artery disease.
Multislice computed tomographic coronary angiography (MSCT) can accurately detect the presence of atherosclerosis noninvasively. However, a discrepancy has been observed between MSCT and noninvasive functional imaging. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the correlation between MSCT and invasive fractional flow reserve (FFR) in men with known coronary artery disease. Thirty-three p...
متن کاملAccuracy of MSCT Coronary Angiography with 64 Row CT Scanner—Facing the Facts
Improvements in multislice computed tomography (MSCT) angiography of the coronary vessels have enabled the minimally invasive detection of coronary artery stenoses, while quantitative coronary angiography (QCA) is the accepted reference standard for evaluation thereof. Sixteen-slice MSCT showed promising diagnostic accuracy in detecting coronary artery stenoses haemodynamically and the subseque...
متن کاملA COMPARISON OF CORONARY ANGIO GRAPHY RE SULTS IN PATIENTS WI TH STABLE AND UNSTABLE ANGIN A PECTORIS
To study the newly mentioned significance of the obstructive lesion morphology in coronary artery disease (CAD), a study has been designed to compare this feature between patients having stable angina (SA) or unstable angina (UA) who underwent coronary angiography in Tehran Heart Institute. Study objectives were detection of the angina producing artery (AP A) and its morphologic lesion typ...
متن کاملDiagnostic accuracy of multislice CT angiography in peripheral arterial disease.
A systematic search of the PubMed and Medline databases of English literature was performed to determine the diagnostic accuracy of multislice computed tomographic (CT; MSCT) angiography in peripheral arterial disease (PAD) compared with digital subtraction angiography (DSA). Studies comparing MSCT angiography with DSA in peripheral vascular disease were included, and the diagnostic value of MS...
